Consisting of both lead vocalist Kevin Roy and instrumentalist/vocalist Jon Fennell, L∞PS are currently establishing themselves as not only the top acoustic-pop duo in British Columbia, but in all of Canada. Their first studio commercial single “Last Goodbye” was recorded at the esteemed Echoplant Studios in Vancouver BC and is currently gaining steam on all streaming sources in 2024, with over 35,000 streams as of this writing. Their 11 track debut demo album, released at the start of 2022, is currently also available on all streaming services and shows a more raw version of the duo. Following up the success and reception of “Last Goodbye”, LooPS went back to Echoplant and made a new radio-worthy version of their song “Mourning Girl”, which had a wide release in mid June 2024.
After starting the duo in 2019, L∞PS first gained country wide exposure by making the top 100 in the 2021 CBC Music Searchlight competition out of over 2500 acts in the country. In August 2022, L∞PS won their first regional award by being named winners of the Kamloops This Week Readers Choice Award for Best Band/Singer and L∞PS ended 2022 by completing their first Tour “The Next Single” which they performed in 12 cities throughout southern BC and Vancouver Island at the end of the year, during which time they recorded “Last Goodbye”. 2023 was a busy year as the duo played a new yearly high with 91 LIVE shows, including featured main stage spots at both the 2023 Scotties Tournament of Hearts and 2023 Memorial Cup fan concert series. Building off the success of the 2022 KTW Readers Choice win, in 2023 L∞PS not only won Best Band/Singer for the 2nd straight year, but totaled 5 wins and 2 runner ups, which included Best Influencer, Best Personality, Best Instagram Page, Best Facebook page and Best Fundraiser (more about that one below). With over 100,000 votes cast, it has now firmly established L∞PS as the premier act in the region and validated their reputation as the best Acoustic-Pop act in British Columbia. They also have a podcast series, “LooPS: Diary Of An Indie Band” which they started at the beginning of 2022, and currently has over 3 dozen episodes released.
As L∞PS, Kevin and Jon have grown to show their unique and entertaining personalities as much as their captivating stage presence and memorable original tracks. They are THE act to watch in British Columbia in 2024 and will be one of the emerging acts in the country by the conclusion of the year.
